Labour Market

The Regional Government of the Pomorskie Voivodeship defines and coordinates regional labour market policy and policy of human resources development through preparation and implementation of the Regional Action Plan for Employment.

The Plan is developed at the Voivodeship Labour Office in Gdańsk by the Task Force established by the Regional Government. It is created and implemented with involvement of not only public institutions, but also social partners and other entities operating in the Pomerania region for the sake of employment opportunities and human resources development.
Plan defines priorities, aims and principles of implementation of labour market policy, including social groups requiring special support and identifies priority courses of actions. The directions accepted by the Regional Government of the Pomorskie Voivodeship for the years 2009 - 2011 include:
  • creating an attractive and accessible job offer,
  • enhancing employment and educational activities of the inhabitants of Pomerania,
  • improvement of the regional labour market,
  • development of active labour market policy.
Taking into account results of monitoring and assessment of the already carried out actions, Plan annually indicates means of policy implementation, including programmes, projects and other types of actions directed at development of employment opportunities, human resources development and counteracting unemployment, which are undertaken by the Regional Government, county level local governments, governmental agencies operating in the region, social organisations and other partners.
Plan provides policy makers and beneficiaries of the policy with information on actions undertaken by different partners, resources available for realisation of the stated actions and their expected results. Furthermore, by indicating the institution/organization supposed to carry out the actions, the Plan allows for acquisition of further information or establishment of a cooperation agreement.
